A sequoia funded Singapore start-up is able to detect heart attacks 15 days in advance thanks to Deep learning algorithms
One of the first analytics modules for this product to receive FDA approval is called RhythmAnalytics, which uses deep learning to detect over 15 types of cardiac arrythmias, and prompts patients to visit their doctor well ahead of a repeat heart attack. The company worked with leading health systems including the Mayo Clinic and Brigham & Women’s Hospital to gather over a million ECG recordings to train the AI models and run clinical trials. During those trials, RhythmAnalytics outperformed a panel of cardiologists in accurately detecting a variety of cardiac arrhythmias. The trials at the Mayo Clinic showed it can detect heart failure events 14 days ahead of time.
