Khalil Gibran says
when you work with love you bind yourself to your Self and to God. I have
seen bored surgeons and thrilled masons.
Many in business and elsewhere I know, enjoy
their work not by the rank nor by what they do.
Some in very humble employ, made
me feel I wish I had their job. What we do may be important, but how we bring
it alive defines our rendezvous with life.
A Muslim and a Hindu Festival the story I wrote about the street toy vendor
is based on a Fakir I have seen as a young boy. Few from my town saw him in the
recent fair, braving death in dead cold at the age of ninety. He sells toys with importance that defies Picasso.
I didn't write the story to proclaim this philosophy. That would first kill the story and then bury the purpose. I hoped if story came out well, people would
connect to the joy of the trifles without
any aimed effort.
