10 years ago when I talked about balanced scorecard with some leading Indian brands, it was a kind of few good men wanted to do scorecard program. Still fewer wanted to build the system for managing the scorecards. Not any more! Recently I conducted workshop in Chennai. Almost all the participating companies had scorecard in one or the other form. They did not want to know what is balanced scorecard. They were all aware of the scorecard methodology.
They wanted to know how best to implement! How to build a scorecard system. Best practices in implementing the balanced scorecard or transform their existing performance management system to balanced scorecard system.
However, I still feel there is great room for taking full advantage of the scorecard system. It still is important but not urgent initiative. It still lacks the resources that would be required to benefit from it
